Today, our college hosted an important event dedicated to AIDS Day, which is celebrated on December 1. The meeting was organized by representatives of the Pavlodar Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS, as well as the Public Foundation “You are not alone.” The main goal is to remind about the importance of knowledge and prevention of HIV, as well as support for people living with this disease. The red ribbon, which has become a symbol of the fight against AIDS since 1991, was clearly presented as a sign of hope, solidarity and awareness. The participants of the event discussed how important it is to take care of your health, regularly undergo HIV tests and use protective equipment. Condoms, drug withdrawal and awareness are the simple but effective steps that help protect yourself and your loved ones from infection. Myths about HIV, such as that the virus is transmitted through hugs or mosquito bites, were debunked, and participants received useful information about prevention measures and the importance of early testing. We can all contribute to creating a society in which people with HIV will not feel fear and isolation, but will receive the necessary support and care. The red ribbon has become a symbol not only of struggle, but also of hope for a bright future without an epidemic.
