Currently, according to WHO estimates, the number of people living with HIV infection exceeds 40 million people, 90% of them in developing countries, about 25 million died from AIDS. Since the registration of the first case in Kazakhstan in 1987, at the beginning of 2022, the number of officially registered about 40 thousand cases of HIV infection among citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Republic of Kazakhstan, according to experts of the World Health Organization (WHO), is currently in a concentrated stage of the epidemic and the rate of HIV infection among the population is 0.1%, which is lower than in other countries of the Central Asian region.
