Today, a rally dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan was held in the Memorial Park to the Fallen Internationalist Soldiers in Afghanistan. The event was attended by 1st year students and the teacher-organizer of the NVP Abdukhodzhaev Y.E. On December 25, 1979, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan began, which marked the beginning of a long and complex war that had a significant impact on the region and international relations. During the conflict, 21,239 people were sent from Kazakhstan. From 1979 to 1989: • 947 people died • 1,770 people were injured As of 2019, there are 16,820 internationalist soldiers living in Kazakhstan. Despite the past decades, the feat of Soviet soldiers is alive in the memory of the people. Today we paid tribute to the soldiers, warrant officers, officers and civilians who honorably performed their duty in Afghanistan. We remember, honor and are proud!
