On May 31, on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression and Famine, were held in college the classroom hours "Day of Remembrance and Sorrow".

The purpose is to familiarize students with the historical past of our homeland, educate students in the spirit of democracy, freedom, personal dignity, respect for human rights and freedoms.

This woeful date represents one of the most tragic pages in the history of our country. From 1920 to 53, more than 100 thousand people were convicted in Kazakhstan alone, and the death penalty was applied to 25 thousand. In fact, a whole generation of intelligentsia of the Kazakh people was destroyed, defending their interests.

The people of Kazakhstan carefully preserve the memory of millions of compatriots affected by political repression. The times of terror are described in detail in history textbooks, books are published on this topic, films are shot, memorable steles are installed in cities and villages of the country. All this is essential if society is to recognize the value of peaceful evolutionary development and never allow such events to recur.
